Grand Hotel at the Airport boasts an allstar cast including Elizabeth Taylor Richard Burton (Whos afraid of Virginia Woolf) Rod Taylor ('The Time Machine' Aussie Aussie Aussie!) Maggie Smith (Oh so Young) Orson Welles (big as a house) ,Margaret Rutherford(Oscar thankyou!) and Louis Jourdan (Gigi)
The Film follows a bunch of varied High profile Celebrities who are trapped at an airport due to weather conditions , the close confinement causes (as a result) various issues teetering on the edge in their lives coming to a head which includes ... bankruptcy, Tax evasion , Lost of Property ,,Divorce and Elopement.
Love is found and is lost but all is resolved well in a sense , The Plotline following Taylor/Burton is Based on an actual event involving the time when Vivian Leigh(Gone with The Wind) tried to do a runner on Laurence Olivier with Australian Actor Peter Finch . the scens between Maggie Smith and Rod Taylor are so realistic (perhaps as they may or may not have been hooking up at the time)
